The Anavet Cup is a championship ice hockey trophy, won through a best-of-7 series, conducted by the Canadian Junior Hockey League. The series is played between the Turnbull Cup champions of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and the Credential Cup champions of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. The winner of the Anavet Cup moves on to compete for the Royal Bank Cup, the Junior "A" National Championship.
The term "Anavet" come from the Canadian non-for-profit organization Anavets, or Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada.
The Anavet Cup Champion had traditionally played against the Doyle Cup Champion for the Western Canadian Championship, the Abbott Cup. However, with the reorganization of representative "Regions" to play for the Royal Bank Cup in 1990, the Abbott Cup had diminished in importance. The last Abbott Cup champion was crowned in 1999, with the trophy being retired.
Reported in late November 2011, the Doyle Cup and Anavet Cup will be either retired or minimized after the 2011-12 season. In their place will be a round robin like the Dudley Hewitt Cup and Fred Page Cup involving the a predetermined host city, and the champions of the SJHL, MJHL, British Columbia Hockey League, and Alberta Junior Hockey League. The winner will get a direct entry into the Royal Bank Cup.
